Our Operators are responsible for the full-time operation and general maintenance of facilities equipment and process control at water facilities and distribution systems. This position will also assist with daily and weekly grounds keeping and will offer the ability to learn and grow within the wastewater industry. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person looking for a career within wastewater. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, as required for emergency call outs.
High School or trade school diploma is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred.
Valid driver’s license with a good record.
Must live within one (1) hour of the facility.
OSHA 40hr. certification with current 8hr refresher.
Ability to be able to lift up to 60 pounds regularly and work in varying outdoor conditions.
Ability to respond to emergency calls due to weather or operations.
Mechanical skills with the ability to perform preventative maintenance as well as troubleshoot tractors, mowers, pumps, or oth-er onsite equipment.
0-3 years of experience in a Water and/or wastewater treatment facility operation and maintenance; or any equivalent combina-tion of education and experience, preferred.
Ability to obtain a valid New Jersey Waste Operators license through the operator’s exam or reciprocity a must.
Knowledge of computer applications.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply instructions, drawings and specifications for work assigned.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
