The New Jersey Water Association (NJWATER) has several different programs that specialize in matters of water and wastewater. The Drinking Water Programs focus on assisting water utilities with training sessions, CCR development, facility maintence and productivity. The drinking water program also helps small water systems that may have questions about compliance, treatment techniques and license renewals. The assistance to rural or small community systems is met with the help of borrowing equipment for basic line location and leak detection. This program will also assist systems on-site if requested.

                        Source Water Protection
                       Groundwater Protection

The
Source Water Program helps with every aspect of groundwater protection and environmental education. The Souce Water Protection program helps utilities take an active approach on protecting their groundwater and surface water supplies. Using a community-based approach this program helps to provide technical assistance in drafting a water systems SWAP or Wellhead Protection Plan. This information can then be crafted into a public relations tool or school outreach initive. This program has see great success in many communities throughout New Jersey!  These protection programs help with ordiance writting and system delineations. The Sourcewater Program utilizes current Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. This combined with data from a variety of state agencies yeilds the production of high quality, detailed and informative maps for  the participating water systems. All of this assistance is provided at no charge to the utility.
