Course Description: This workshop will benefit those who are involved in the location of underground utilities with an emphasis on non-metallic lines, those who supervise staff who provide utility locating services, and those who are responsible for selecting or purchasing utility locating equipment. The session will begin with a classroom discussion of technologies and equipment available for locating non-metallic utilities, and will also include a module on preserving this information for use in a GIS system. Weather permitting, the last 45 minutes will be spent outdoors utilizing some of the equipment discussed in the classroom session, including a brief GPR & GPS location demo, and hands-on use of the equipment.
