Fire hydrants and valves are important assets in the distribution system. Properly functioning hydrants and valves are crucial to a utility’s operation. This course will provide in-depth instruction of all aspects of fire hydrants: uses; flow testing; flushing; inspections; maintenance; installation and testing. In addition, a complete overview of two key distribution valves will be covered. Instruction will focus on the following aspects of gate valves and butterfly valves: styles; operation; installation and issues.
