Automatic Control Valves: Applications, Operation & Maintenance

Automatic control valves are used to perform common functions in water systems. Some applications are common and some more unique. In an era where staff levels and operational cost reductions are needed, automatic control valves make even more sense.  Attendees will learn where automatic control valves can automate operations. They will also learn basic troubleshooting and maintenance.


Tom Kuehnel, President, Harper Control Solutions Incorporated

Tom Kuehnel has been involved with commercial water control systems since June 1990.  Tom has diverse experience in complex hydraulic and mechanical systems. His experience has led to many product innovations in control valve design and control techniques.  Mr. Kuehnel is the President and Owner of Harper Control Solutions Incorporated, which serves the commercial waterworks market working with design engineers, water utilities, high-rise building developers & design engineers. Many of his innovations have helped to shape high rise plumbing and fire suppression designs and are implemented worldwide.

Robert Waldele Sr., Sales Representative, Harper Control Solutions Inc.

Bob Waldele has been involved in the water industry since 1978. Bob worked his way to Superintendent and then Division Manager of Consumers NJ Water, presently Aqua New Jersey. He then was a salesman for Lee Company and Capitol Supply calling on water utility customers. Mr. Waldele has a current NJDEP T-4 water treatment license and a NJDEP W-3 Distribution license. Bob is also an active member of NJ AWWA, North Jersey Water Conference, South Jersey Water Professionals, and the NJ Water Association.
